Camps

CYT offers week-long musical theater camps each year during the summer months for students ages 5–18. Camps are designed to create a hands-on theater experience, and are focused on building performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Camps include team competitions, rotations through drama, dance, music, theme days, a daily theme-related devotional, and an impressive concluding showcase for family and friends. CYT Camps are high-energy, super fun, and the best week ever!

Day Camps

CYT Musical Theater Summer Day Camp is one of the most affordable quality musical theater camps in the area, and we offer two options for day camps.
  • FINDING NEMO KIDS: campers ages 7-12 will participate in all aspects of a theatrical production in this show camp including auditions, rehearsals, set design, prop creation, and costume accessory design. Campers will present Finding Nemo Kids on the last afternoon of show camp.
  • BROADWAY BOUND: campers ages 5-12 rotate through theater workshops including dance, drama, and voice, play exciting theater games, participate in showcase rehearsal, make life-long friends and more! Campers will present a 30-minute musical theater variety showcase on the last afternoon of camp.

The Point - Teen Camp Experience

The Point Middle School OVERNIGHT Camp
Tuesday, June 24 - Friday, June 27, 2025
(just completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, minimum age of 12)

The Point High School OVERNIGHT Camp
Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11, 2025
(just completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, minimum age of 14)

Location: Judson University, Elgin, IL
Friday evening cabaret-style showcase open to family and friends.

YES! Middle School is overnight.
YES! There will be a payment plan for both MS and HS camps.

Camp Leaders

Camp staff includes professional local artists, CYT Production Artistic Teams, and theater specialists. These leaders are high energy, experienced, and love working with kids! CYT aims to hire leaders who are great role models for our students.

All CYT leaders have been background checked and adhere to Christian Youth Theater's Mission and Values.  Application closes March 12, 2025.

Camp Interns

Is this you - positive role model, responsible, takes good initiative, love people, has great social skills and outstanding work ethics? If you are a CYT student age 14+ who matches this description, we invite you to apply. Interns are selected based upon availability and the needs of each individual camp. Interns are required to be at camp M-F 8:30am-3:30pm. On both Monday and Friday, start and end times will vary.
