Open Chapter Coordinator Positions

The Chapter Coordinator (CC) serves Christian Youth Theater (CYT) and the local chapter during the production and/ or class programming. The CC is a liaison between CYT families, students, and CYT Chicago. The CC is an ambassador who upholds the mission and vision of CYT by ensuring that the Chapter classes, productions, and/or special events run smoothly and efficiently while reflecting Jesus.

McHenry Class Coordinator (CC) - This coordinator will serve McHenry chapter classes typically held in Crystal Lake. CCs put people over programs, encourage community, and  have a heart to represent Jesus in all they do. A good candidate for the CC role is organized with strong administrative and communication skills.

Rockford Production Coordinator (CC) - This coordinator will serve and oversee Rockford productions with performances in Rockton. CCs put people over programs, encourage community, and have a heart to represent Jesus in all they do. A good candidate for the CC role is organized with strong administrative and communication skills.
 

Camp Leaders

Camp staff includes professional local artists, CYT Production Artistic Teams, and theater specialists. These leaders are high energy, experienced, and love working with kids! CYT aims to hire leaders who are great role models for our students.

All CYT leaders have been background checked and adhere to Christian Youth Theater's Mission and Values.  Application closes March 12, 2025.

Camp Interns

Is this you - positive role model, responsible, takes good initiative, love people, has great social skills and outstanding work ethics? If you are a CYT student age 14+ who matches this description, we invite you to apply. Interns are selected based upon availability and the needs of each individual camp. Interns are required to be at camp M-F 8:30am-3:30pm. On both Monday and Friday, start and end times will vary.

Directing Teams

CYT Chicago proudly produces fully-staged musicals, with outstanding lighting, sound, sets, and costumes. Cast sizes generally range from 50-100 kids, all between the ages of 8 and 18. CYT shows are a unique opportunity to work with up-and-coming talent in a fun and relaxed setting, while teaching them the importance of having a professional work ethic. These shows become magic with the help of directors, musical directors, and choreographers who are creative and can communicate that creativity in a productive and positive way.

Teaching at CYT

CYT Chicago has class locations throughout Chicagoland and Southeast Wisconsin. We serve children from ages 5-18 in our theatrical classes and summer camps. CYT's classes and productions run on a trimester schedule. 

We are always looking for gifted educators in all forms of acting, singing, dancing, improv, music, technical, and more.

Internships

CYT has many opportunities for college internships.  Stage direction, music, choreography, costume design, set building, marketing, graphic design, administration, and more!  Working with CYT is a great way to improve your skills, grow your knowledge, and gain experience working in all aspects of theater and business.  Most internships are available as part of our directing teams but others are available in our local CYT classes and at our home office in Cary, Illinois.
